What does the Tabacón Suite King Bed Room look out on?
The suite has a courtyard view. It is a calm outlook rather than a direct view of Arenal Volcano. The resort sits in a 900-acre rainforest reserve at the foot of the volcano, so you are close to the scenery either way.
How are the beds arranged, and who does the suite sleep comfortably?
The suite is a one-bedroom layout with 1 King Bed and 2 Large Twin Sofa Beds, sleeping up to 4 guests. A couple can take the king bed, with two more guests on the sofa beds in the living area. A free rollaway/extra bed and a free crib can also be arranged.
Does the room have a private hot tub or balcony?
The suite has a private indoor hot tub inside the room, so you can soak without leaving your suite. The room is described by its courtyard view rather than a balcony or plunge pool. Tabacón's private thermal plunge pools belong to its Private Pool Suite category.

Is there a beach nearby, and how close are the hot springs and restaurants?
La Fortuna is inland, so there is no beach nearby, and the closest ocean is about three hours away by car. The draw here is the thermal pool network of 18 hot pools on the property. Hotel guests get exclusive early access from 8:00 to 10:00 AM, and the springs stay open until 10:00 PM. On site you will find Los Tucanes, Ave del Paraíso, Caña Brava Lobby Bar, Bosque Bar and the Agua Ardiente swim-up bar.
What are the in-room comforts, and is the WiFi good enough for working?
The suite has air conditioning, blackout drapes, a desk, a 32-inch plasma TV with cable, an iPod dock, a coffee/tea maker, a minibar and a dining area. Wired internet is free. The free WiFi runs at 250+ Mbps, which suits 3–5 people or up to 10 devices. Room service runs during limited hours.
What should I know about arrival, getting there and check-in?
Check-in is from 3:00 PM and check-out is at noon. If you arrive early, you can store your luggage and use the thermal pools from 10:00 AM. The nearest airport, La Fortuna/Arenal (FON), is about 6 miles away. Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) is roughly 2.5 to 3.5 hours by road. A roundtrip airport shuttle costs extra and should be requested at least 72 hours ahead. The resort is smoke-free and does not accept pets.
